Definitely not your run off the mill coffee and sandwich cafe. Lots of interesting variety on the menu. Good, friendly service. The venue is airy, but comfortable and has a fascinating hanging garden. The best place to eat in O.C.!
I've only been here for coffee once. I got a flavored latte and have not tried any of their goodies. The service was good. The coffee was really good and the atmosphere is great. Plenty of seating with a lot of character.
This place is really lovely inside, and the coffee is good. The food, however, could use some help. I like to come for breakfast, and keep giving this place a chance, but frankly the food just isn't great. I'm gluten free, and they do have very few breakfast options for that, mainly a flourless quiche. It is ok but could easily be better with a few more ingredients. The fruit they have me as a side was cantaloupe, oranges, strawberries, kiwi, and grapes. The only good fruit was the kiwi and strawberries. The cantaloupe wasn't even ripe yet, the orange slices were mealy, and the grapes were hard and not sweet at all. They should taste the fruit before serving it. The people are very nice there, but I think in the long run you go to a restaurant for the food foremost, not ambience and people, so they need to step up their food game.
This is a great cafe. The food was great and there were quite a few vegetarian options. The staff was great. The chai tea was ok. But the absolute best was the Marion berry danish! Their deserts are amazing.
Con: 1. I bought a simple coffee and they charged me $2 "gratuity"??? That made it double to how much a coffee is.
Pro: 1. coffee was local and tasted very smooth.
